Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead data migration execution and cutover planning for a global SAP ERP transformation program. This role will manage data migration activities from Design through Build, Test, deployment readiness, and cutover, while coordinating business data owners, functional teams, technical teams, data migration resources, and the system integrator.

The ideal candidate has significant project management experience leading data migration and cutover activities within large SAP ERP implementations. The role requires a hands-on PM who can build and manage an integrated plan, drive dependencies and decisions across workstreams, establish clear accountability for data readiness, and ensure the cutover plan is detailed, executable, and aligned to the overall deployment plan. Prior SAP S/4HANA implementation experience is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead program management for the end-to-end SAP data migration workstream from Design through Build, Test, deployment readiness, and production cutover.
  • Own and maintain the integrated data migration project plan, including milestones, detailed activities, dependencies, predecessors, owners, dates, and critical-path items.
  • Coordinate delivery of data migration activities including data object scope, source-to-target mapping, extraction, transformation, cleansing, enrichment, load preparation, mock conversions, validation, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
  • Drive alignment among business data owners, SAP functional workstreams, technical/data teams, testing teams, deployment teams, and the system integrator.
  • Ensure data migration activities and dates are integrated with configuration, RICEFW/integration development, testing cycles, environment readiness, and deployment milestones.
  • Manage data-related RAID items, decisions, actions, assumptions, and cross-workstream dependencies; escalate issues early when they threaten key milestones.
  • Establish and manage readiness criteria for mock conversions and production migration, including entry/exit criteria, validation responsibilities, defect resolution, reconciliation, and approval checkpoints.
  • Lead planning and governance for mock cutovers and production cutover, maintaining an integrated cutover plan with sequenced activities, dependencies, timing, resource assignments, decision points, validation steps, and contingency actions.
  • Coordinate detailed cutover planning across business, functional, technical, data, infrastructure, security, integration, and deployment teams to ensure activities can be executed in the required sequence and window.
  • Facilitate data migration and cutover planning sessions, status reviews, readiness reviews, command-center preparation, and leadership updates.
  • Track progress against plan, challenge missed commitments, identify schedule impacts, and drive owners to resolution.
  • Partner with testing and business teams to ensure migrated data is available when required for test cycles and that validation and reconciliation are completed on schedule.
  • Drive production cutover readiness, including dry runs/rehearsals, go/no-go inputs, business validation, issue escalation, rollback/contingency planning, and transition to stabilization support.
  • Provide concise executive reporting on migration status, data readiness, cutover readiness, risks, decisions, dependencies, and required leadership actions.

Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of SAP project or program management experience, with direct responsibility for data migration and/or cutover delivery on SAP ERP implementations.
  • Hands-on experience managing SAP data migration activities across multiple project phases, including design, build, testing, mock conversions, deployment preparation, and production cutover.
  • Experience building and managing detailed integrated project plans with milestones, dependencies, predecessor relationships, resource ownership, risks, and critical-path impacts.
  • Experience coordinating business data owners, SAP functional teams, data migration teams, technical teams, testing teams, and system integrators.
  • Working knowledge of ERP data migration lifecycle activities such as data profiling, cleansing, mapping, transformation, extraction, loading, validation, reconciliation, and sign-off.
  • Experience managing mock cutovers and/or production cutover plans for large SAP or ERP deployments.
  • Demonstrated success driving execution across multiple workstreams and resolving cross-functional dependencies in complex ERP programs.
  • Strong RAID, governance, status reporting, facilitation, and escalation skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with business process owners, technical teams, consulting partners, and senior leadership.
  • Experience working in large manufacturing, medical device, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similarly complex/regulated environments is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with at least one SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration.
  • Experience managing data migration using common SAP migration approaches and tooling, such as SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit, SAP Data Services/BODS, or comparable ETL/migration tools.
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and SAP deployment/cutover practices.
  • Experience with complex SAP master and transactional data across domains such as Business Partner/Customer/Vendor, Material, Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and open transactional data.
  • Experience coordinating multiple mock conversion cycles and using lessons learned to progressively improve production cutover duration, sequencing, and readiness.
  • Experience supporting global template deployments across multiple regions, business units, plants, or legal entities.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate is a hands-on SAP project leader who understands how data migration and cutover actually work in an ERP implementation and can translate technical and functional activities into an executable integrated plan. This person is comfortable working at the detailed task level with delivery teams while also providing clear leadership-level reporting. They will bring structure, discipline, follow-through, and strong dependency management to the program, and will actively drive owners toward data readiness and a successful cutover rather than simply reporting status. SAP S/4HANA experience is a strong plus; proven SAP ERP data migration and cutover leadership is the primary requirement.

Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to qualified candidates who meet eligibility requirements.
