The State of Texas is seeking an experienced Cerner Millennium CCL & Data Transformation Lead to support enterprise Electronic Health Record (EHR) migration and modernization initiatives.
This role requires a strong combination of Cerner Millennium data management expertise, hands-on Cerner Command Language (CCL) development, data extraction, ETL support, and healthcare data integration experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze and document clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary care settings
Translate clinical and operational requirements into technical specifications
Design, develop, optimize, and maintain Cerner CCL scripts
Perform complex data extraction, validation, and reconciliation from Cerner Millennium Oracle schemas
Support enterprise-wide EHR migration, reporting, and legacy system retirement initiatives
Develop and maintain ETL processes, structured data feeds, and flat file extracts
Troubleshoot CCL performance issues and downstream integration/reporting challenges
Collaborate with clinical informatics stakeholders and technical teams
Support production and non-production Cerner Millennium environments
Required Skills:
Advanced hands-on experience with Cerner Command Language (CCL)
Strong understanding of Cerner Millennium architecture and Oracle databases
Experience with SQL, Linux, ETL, and enterprise data migration
Knowledge of REST/SOA development and healthcare data integrations
Experience with distributed systems, networking, and performance tuning
Strong experience with data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting
Working knowledge of Java, C, C++, Python, Perl, or OCI
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or OCI
Prior experience as a Senior Cerner Consultant or Technical Lead
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare operations
Preferred Experience:
Large-scale EHR implementation or migration experience
Experience supporting Cerner Millennium production environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills
