Job Description
We are seeking a Production / Technical Support II to join our Markets Application Production Services team supporting Global Markets technology. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in AS/400 iSeries administration and application support, enterprise monitoring, and incident management, and a proven ability to lead high-severity incidents, optimize production stability, and partner with business and engineering teams to deliver operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 production support for Global Markets Futures and Options Clearing platforms with a focus on AS/400 iSeries.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues using tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS Geneos.
- Lead incident response, drive root cause analysis, and implement remediation and preventive actions.
- Manage change deployments with Turnover and follow ITIL practices for change, incident, problem, and capacity management.
- Oversee and optimize batch schedules using IBM Advanced Job Scheduler and related schedulers.
- Facilitate data transfers and file movements using IBM Connect:Direct and messaging platforms.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to plan and deliver production changes safely.
- Analyze application and system logs using UNIX/Linux tools and SQL to drive timely resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AS/400 iSeries expertise, including RPG, CL, and IBM Advanced Job Scheduler.
- Experience with IBM Connect:Direct and Turnover for change management.
- Proficiency with Linux, SQL, Python, Java, and messaging platforms.
- Hands-on use of monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and ITRS Geneos.
- Working knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing tools such as Remedy or ServiceNow, and Jira for workflow tracking.
- Good understanding of infrastructure, databases (SQL and DB2), and middleware components.
- 5+ years of application production support experience in the banking or financial industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholder management capability.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science discipline.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Autosys, Ansible, Grafana, and grid computing.
- Capacity management knowledge and assessment experience.
- Performance engineering analysis using Dynatrace.
