Role Overview
We are seeking a Communications Network Engineer to join our team. This role involves evaluating communication hardware and software, administering various network types, and coordinating with users and sites. The position requires specialized experience in network performance, configuration, and the integration and testing of large-scale computer integrated networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate communication hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot Local Area Networks (LAN), Base Area Networks (BAN), and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- Administer LAN/BAN/WAN environments.
- Schedule and manage network conversions and cutovers.
- Coordinate with all responsible users and sites to ensure smooth transitions.
- Apply specialized experience in the performance and configuration of networks.
- Participate in the integration and testing of complex, large-scale computer integrated networks.
Required Qualifications
Clearance: An active Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required.
Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field and a minimum of 4 years of IT experience, or a minimum of 8 years of IT experience if no degree is held. Experience requirements may be adjusted for candidates with an Associate or Master's degree in an IT-related field.
Certifications: A CompTIA Security+ ce certification (or equivalent for IAT Level II) and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification are required. Candidates without a CCNA may be considered if they complete 20 hours of approved CE/OS training before starting and obtain the CCNA certification within six months of their start date.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is $46.95 per hour, plus an additional $5.09 per hour for fringe benefits.
