KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Project Manager - NPD/NPI Electronics & Embedded Systems Projects (Engineering Background Preferred)
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex, multidisciplinary electronics-based New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring predictable delivery, cost control, and on-time execution. You will act as the primary point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders (as it relates to the project), driving project success through strong technical leadership and cross-functional coordination. Working within our PMO structure, you will manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk for high-impact projects while to the continuous improvement of PMO processes.

In the role of Senior Project Manager:
  • You will own the successful delivery of high-complexity projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met. Project sizes vary: med device NPD projects typically run 12-16 months, smaller update projects 1-2 months, and the most complex med device programs 2+ years.
  • You will act as the primary customer interface for the duration of assigned projects, maintaining clear communication, managing expectations, and aligning deliverables with strategic goals. Typical teams include 2-4 internal FTEs and 2-4 contractors; project teams with the customer may include 20-30 people.
  • You will lead cross-functional teams in developing and refining project proposals, including defining scope, schedule, cost estimates, and resource requirements.
  • You will plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of projects from concept through manufacturing transfer, ensuring alignment of scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
  • You will coordinate deliverables and communications among engineering, quality, procurement, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless execution. Procurement provides timelines; PMs are not responsible for BOM/component buys.
  • You will maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, providing regular status updates and reports to internal stakeholders, the PMO Manager, and customers. MS Project is the core tool (sunsetting in September next year), and Jira is used for software/engineering teams.
  • You will track project milestones, manage task dependencies, and proactively identify and resolve issues or risks that could impact project success.
  • You will manage scope changes in coordination with the PMO Manager and Account Managers, ensuring alignment on priorities and impacts.
  • You will mentor other project managers and support their professional development.
  • You will support continuous improvement by contributing to the development of PMO processes, templates, and tools, helping standardize where possible while recognizing project-specific customizations.
  • You will foster a collaborative, accountable project environment emphasizing quality, efficiency, and technical excellence.
  • You will identify opportunities to add value for customers and the company beyond baseline project scope and constraints.
  • Projects are hybrid/incremental: med device and electronics-based work blends waterfall and iterative approaches; software elements incorporate Agile/Jira as needed.
  • You will work on a mix of industries, primarily 70-80% medical devices, with automotive, industrial automation, and defense projects also included.

Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Engineering background preferred (time as engineer, tech lead, or design engineer, or an engineering degree).
  • PMP, Lean/Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certifications are desirable but not required.
  • Experience working in regulated product environments, ideally medical devices (ISO 13485, FDA, EU MDR); experience in automotive, defense, industrial, or other complex electronics sectors is also valued. Contract manufacturing experience is also a nice-to-have.
  • 5-10 years of experience managing complex electronics-based NPD/NPI projects, including expertise in regulated industries (medical devices strongly preferred; automotive, industrial automation, and defense valued).
    • Strong technical understanding of electronics, embedded systems, and multidisciplinary product development processes.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing and NPI principles, including DFM/DFT, verification/validation, and transfer to production.
    • Proven success guiding multi-disciplinary project teams through design, verification, regulatory approval, and transfer-to-manufacturing.
    • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans, balancing customer priorities, technical feasibility, and internal resources.
    • Ability to manage multiple medium-to-large, complex projects simultaneously, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and follow-through skills, with attention to cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Proficiency with project planning, scheduling, and shared resource management tools; Microsoft Project experience desirable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, able to convey technical and business concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Sr. Project Manager:
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $115-150K plus undefined bonus based on company & individual performance. However, we are willing to send qualified candidates over budget.
