Title: Linux Systems Engineer (On-Prem/ Bare Metal)
Location: Plano, TX (onsite 3 days per week)
Duration: 18-24 months

Role Overview
We are seeking a Linux Systems Engineer with deep, hands-on experience operating Linux at the operating system level in on-premises or private data center environments. This role is focused on physical servers and core infrastructure, not cloud-managed services or abstracted platforms. This is an OS-centric environment. Success in this role requires strong fundamentals in Linux internals, system troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security on
bare metal or tightly controlled private infrastructure.

Required Experience & Skills

• Deep Linux OS expertise (not limited to containers or applications)
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, systemd, init processes, kernel behavior
• Hands-on experience working with physical servers / bare metal
• Proven background supporting on-prem or private data center environments
• Strong command-line skills and comfort working directly on production systems
• Experience with:
• Filesystems (ext4, xfs, etc.)
• Networking configuration and diagnostics at the OS level
• Storage concepts (local disks, SAN/NAS integration)
• Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $73.00 - $73.00/hr.
