Our company is seeking a Senior Accountant to take the lead role in our Accounting and Finance department. This is a position that offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, including Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), manufacturing, fixed assets, inventory, variance analysis, Operating Expenses (OPEX), and cash forecasting. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following:

1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, and more.
2. Developing and maintaining timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
3. Managing the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
4. Conducting regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation activities.
5. Overseeing the maintenance and accuracy of the company's inventory management system.
6. Conducting regular variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
7. Managing the company's fixed assets and ensuring proper recording of new purchases and disposals.
8. Assisting in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and producing budget-versus-actual reports for management.
9. Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
10. Collaborating with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant position will have the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is a plus.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role.
3. Proven experience with COGS, manufacturing accounting, fixed assets, inventory management, variance analysis, OPEX, and cash forecasting.
4. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
5. Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software systems.
6. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
8. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
9. Proven leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
11. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
