Summary

As a Field Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Boston Dynamics robotic solutions to our customers, ensuring their seamless integration and operational success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including collaborating closely with customers to align system capabilities with their operational needs and designing site-specific solutions. You will travel up to 30% to customer sites and oversee the site-level solution architecture and commissioning of Boston Dynamics robotic systems, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with customer goals. Furthermore, you will implement scalable solutions that cater to both individual integrations and the growth of customer accounts, while also managing network infrastructure and configuration for robust system connectivity.

Your expertise will also be crucial in monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues through advanced troubleshooting, and providing comprehensive customer training and support. Additionally, you will lead technical projects that enhance integration efficiency, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement, while also supporting the early-stage testing and integration of new Boston Dynamics products. You will proactively gather, systematize, and convey customer feedback to internal teams, champion product enhancements, and steer customer-focused solutions closely working with product and engineering teams. Throughout your work, you will ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations, develop SOWs and customer success documentation, and deliver comprehensive customer training.

As seen at CES 2026, Atlas is the robot that is transforming the role of humanoid robots in our world. This is your chance to come and work on the cutting edge of robotics, and make a direct impact on how people will interact with humanoids now and in the future.

This position will be second shift 2pm-10pm.

What you'll be doing:
  • Spearhead high-impact customer engagements, leading the technical execution of pilots, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), roadshows, and product demonstrations to validate use cases and drive commercial adoption.
  • Analyze and optimize the end-to-end integration lifecycle, proactively identifying architectural or process improvements that accelerate deployment timelines and significantly reduce operational costs.
  • Deliver executive-level technical updates and comprehensive project reports to leadership, utilizing data-backed insights to showcase development progress, risk factors, and deployment success.
  • Resolve complex field issues by performing deep operational troubleshooting and analyzing log data, acting as the primary escalation point to determine root causes and coordinate immediate and permanent fixes with internal teams.
  • Develop custom technical solutions and tools to streamline integration processes, address specific customer challenges, and optimize system performance.
  • Design and deliver advanced training programs for customer and partner development teams, ensuring they have the expertise to handle complex integrations and utilize advanced features effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to advocate for customer-centric solutions, using field feedback to drive product improvements and future innovations.

Desired skills:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in field application engineering, systems integration, or technical support for complex hardware/software products, preferably within robotics or industrial automation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable software applications.
  • Deep technical understanding of electro-mechanical systems, including familiarity with sensors, actuators, firmware, Linux-based operating systems, and network architecture.
  • Extensive experience directly collaborating with customers on delivering advanced technical solutions and managing long-term relationships
  • Ability to lead discussions and convey highly technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders, technical teams, and non-technical teams.

Nice to Have:
  • Advanced knowledge of networking protocols, devices, and network security (routers, switches, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems (Ubuntu) and scripting for system management and automation
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, Typescript, Kotlin, or other modern programming languages, with the ability to write scripts to develop custom tools, automate workflows, and troubleshoot integration challenges.

Travel:
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
