A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring a Data Center Cable Technician II & III

Position type: Fulltime - Contract role
Duration: 9+ Months
Location: Jeffersonville, IN

As a Data Center Cable Technician II & III, you will:

Adhere to company and client safety programs, ensuring an accident-free workplace.
Install and decommission mission-critical structured cabling and network infrastructure in a data center environment.
Perform fiber and copper cabling tasks: installation, dressing, termination, labeling, patching, testing, and troubleshooting.
Execute rack and stack activities, fiber splicing, and structured cabling commissioning.
Utilize tools such as OTDR, Fluke testers, and VFL for testing and troubleshooting.
Read and interpret project design drawings, specifications, and manufacturer recommendations.
Maintain compliance with customer safety, quality, security, and site access policies.
Organize materials, tools, and equipment; maintain housekeeping standards and promptly address hazards.
Provide accurate documentation, progress reporting, and port map creation (Technician III).
Lead and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing (Technician III).

The ideal candidate will have:

Technician II

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
3–5 years of telecom experience (Data Center ISP Construction).
Proficiency in fiber and copper cabling, rack and stack, fiber splicing, and use of OTDR/Fluke testers.
Basic computer skills; proficiency in MS Excel (copy/paste, accurate data entry).
Ability to distinguish color and safely use telecom/construction hand tools.
OSHA 10 certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
First Aid/CPR certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
Required tools: Snips, basic hand tools, steel/composite-toed boots (VFL).

Technician III

Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of telecom experience (Data Center ISP Construction).
Experience leading teams of 10+ technicians.
Strong documentation skills: progress reporting, port map creation.
OSHA 10 certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
First Aid/CPR certification (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
Required tools: Snips, basic hand tools, steel/composite-toed boots (VFL).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Fiber Optic Association certifications.
BICSI technical certifications.
Strong customer service orientation with effective communication and interpersonal skills (Technician III).
Demonstrated ability to proactively contribute to a team and mentor others.
Integrity, reliability, and strong work ethic in fast-changing environments.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: Between $28 - $35 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
