Job Description:
  • The Grant Processing Advisor supports the administration of childcare affordability funding programs aimed at reducing childcare fees.
  • This role provides accurate information to stakeholders, resolves complex funding-related issues, maintains data integrity across reporting systems, and ensures compliance with grant requirements.
  • The position requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder communication, and the ability to manage large datasets with accuracy.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Relevant post-secondary education in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of education in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Outlook, including applying formulas and managing large datasets.
  • Experience managing and monitoring large datasets for accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience providing customer service, technical troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook for email communication, task management, and calendar tracking.
  • Ability to complete mandatory training related to privacy, security, information management, and workplace conduct.
Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience managing and monitoring large datasets.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service and problem resolution experience.
  • Experience applying accounting principles and Canadian public sector accounting standards preferred.
  • Experience working with childcare funding, licensing, or subsidy programs preferred.
  • Experience guiding childcare operators in meeting grant funding requirements preferred.
  • Experience working with childcare grant funding programs and related systems preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the administration of childcare affordability funding programs.
  • Respond to parents, childcare staff, educators, and providers with clear and accurate information regarding grant policies.
  • Assist in resolving complaints and complex issues related to affordability funding.
  • Track, analyze, and maintain data with a high degree of accuracy across databases and reporting systems.
  • Guide childcare operators in meeting affordability grant financial reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent interpretation and application of funding policies.
  • Complete all mandatory training requirements upon hire.
Should Have:
  • Experience using accounting principles and public sector accounting standards.
  • Experience working with childcare licensing and funding systems.
  • Familiarity with childcare grant programs and related portals or information systems.
