<>Senior Webscale Platform Engineer — Kubernetes / OpenShift 1.6 Migration

<>About the Role< class=MsoNormal>The Webscale 1.6 migration is critical to modernizing our fleet of Webscale clusters. This upgrade ensures we maintain vendor-provided support for the platform and its add-on services. The migration includes both standard in-service upgrades and blue/green-style upgrades across the fleet.< class=MsoNormal>This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for planning and executing those upgrades safely and repeatably, keeping the platform and add-on services on supported versions while minimizing service disruption.<>What You’ll Do<>•      Execute the Webscale 1.6 platform migration across the cluster fleet using both standard in-service upgrades and blue/green-style upgrades.<>•      Plan, validate, and perform Kubernetes / OpenShift cluster upgrades while minimizing service disruption.<>•      Keep the platform and its add-on services on vendor-supported versions throughout the migration.<>•      Deploy, configure, and support Kubernetes / OpenShift distributions across the fleet.<>•      Automate upgrade and operational workflows using Bash, Ansible, and Python.<>•      Manage configuration and changes through Git / GitLab / GitHub and CI/CD workflows.<>•      Troubleshoot platform, networking (NFS, SDN), storage, and add-on service issues.<>•      Document procedures and runbooks and collaborate with the operations and deployment teams.<>You’ll Need to Have<>•      Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.<>•      Demonstrated Linux system administration skills.<>•      Automation experience with tools such as Bash, Ansible, and Python.<>•      Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting various distributions of Kubernetes or OpenShift.<>•      Working knowledge of the Kubernetes API Server.<>•      Knowledge of NFS and networking fundamentals.<>•      Working knowledge of Git, GitLab, GitHub, and CI/CD workflows.<>•      Effective written and verbal communication skills.<>Even Better If You Have<>•      Demonstrable experience with SDN-related concepts and protocols.<>•      Virtualization and Linux certifications.<>•      Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting OpenShift.<>•      Experience with OVN-Kubernetes.<>•      Experience with Multus CNI.<>•      Experience with a service mesh to manage Layer 7 networking.<>•      Experience with Service Proxy for Kubernetes.<>•      Experience with NetApp storage solutions.<>•      Experience with object storage (SwiftStack / MinIO).<>•      Working knowledge of OpenStack.
