Nightwing is supporting a U.S. Government customer on a large mission critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. We are seeking a motivated and talented Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position, requiring the employee to work at our designated office location. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a passion for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions.

We are seeking a motivated and talented Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our team. This is an onsite position, requiring the employee to work at our designated office location. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software engineering principles and a passion for designing, developing, and maintaining innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug control and diagnostic systems.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers to plan and develop electronic data processing systems.
- Analyze system capabilities to determine end-user needs and resolve program intent, output requirements, and input data acquisition.
- Ensure compliance with hardware and software standards.
- Design and implement build procedures to support hardware and software product development and use.
- Develop software configuration standards for company-wide use, as needed.
- Train software developers in the use of configuration management tools and software quality standards, as applicable.
- Contribute to control modeling (model-based design).
Qualifications:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field) or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Desired Certifications:
The candidate may possess one or more of the following certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate
- Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE Programmer
- CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+)
- Software development methodology certification (e.g. SCRUM Master) highly desired.
- GitHub or GitLab Certifications
Additional Information:
- This is a hybrid position, and the selected candidate will be required to periodically work at our Nightwing Location (Sterling, VA).
Preferred Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of software configuration management tools and quality standards is a plus.
