Description
Our client is seeking a Level 1 Help Desk / Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite technical support for a high-touch end-user environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, hands-on desktop support experience, and the ability to resolve common Level 1 issues efficiently while maintaining a professional and empathetic presence.
This position is 100% onsite in Dedham, supporting staff who rely heavily on technology to deliver critical community-based services.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the first point of contact for IT support requests, providing white-glove customer service to end users
Troubleshoot and resolve Level 1 support issues, including:
Password resets and account access issues
Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 application support
Basic Windows OS troubleshooting
Desktop/laptop hardware break-fix (peripherals, monitors, docks, keyboards, mice)
Perform PC and laptop image builds, deployments, and reimaging
Set up, configure, and deploy new workstations and hardware for end users
Document incidents and resolutions accurately within the ticketing system
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to Level 2/3 teams when appropriate
Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow IT operational processes
Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical teams and non-technical users
Required Skills & Experience
1+ years of Level 1 Help Desk or Desktop Support experience
Strong customer service mindset with experience supporting high-touch end users
Hands-on experience with:
Microsoft Office Suite
Microsoft 365
Windows 10/11 environments
Experience with:
Password resets (Active Directory or similar identity tools)
Imaging and deploying PCs/laptops
Hardware troubleshooting and break-fix
Basic ticketing systems and ITIL-style workflows
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working onsite every day

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
