Job Duties:
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate activities in such fields as architecture and engineering or research and development in these fields.
  • Manage the coordination and overall integration of technical activities in architecture or engineering projects.
  • Direct, review, or approve project design changes.
  • Consult or negotiate with clients to prepare project specifications.
  • Present and explain proposals, reports, or findings to clients.
  • Confer with management, production, or marketing staff to discuss project specifications or procedures.
  • Assess project feasibility by analyzing technology, resource needs, or market demand.
  • Review, recommend, or approve contracts or cost estimates.
  • Develop or implement policies, standards, or procedures for engineering and technical work.
  • Establish scientific or technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management.
  • Direct recruitment, placement, and evaluation of architecture or engineering project staff.
  • Perform administrative functions, such as reviewing or writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, or purchasing materials or services.
  • Develop or implement programs to improve sustainability or reduce the environmental impacts of engineering or architecture activities or operations.
  • Plan or direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, or repair of software facilities or equipment.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate survey work with other project activities.
  • Provide technical support to Cadence customers in the areas of front-end digital design implementation including Synthesis, DFT, and Logical Equivalence Checking (LEC).
  • Guide customers on how to best utilize Cadence technologies to achieve their design goals and meet project schedules.
  • Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Drive technical evaluations/benchmarks to success.
  • Work closely with Research and Development (R&D) to enhance the tools and methodologies to meet and exceed customer requirements.
  • Drive adoption and proliferation of Cadence tools and technologies.
  • Capture best practices and lessons learned from current evaluations/benchmarks and utilize to improve efficiency and success rate in next engagements.
  • Some telecommuting permitted.
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum twelve (12) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a related application engineering occupation.
  • Power analysis and optimization, specifically Joules or PowerArtist for analyzing and optimizing power consumption in digital designs.
  • Low Power Verification using Conformal LP to verify and validate low-power strategies.
  • Design integrity, specifically ensuring design implementation integrity using Conformal LEC, with an understanding of logic equivalence checking.
  • Implementing functional ECO with Conformal-ECO.
  • UPF (Unified Power Format) for power intent specification and verification.
  • Genus for RTL synthesis, with the ability to optimize for area, power, and performance.
  • Simulators such as Xcelium for activity refresh for design optimization and accurate power estimation.
  • Leading, managing, and driving major customer engagements to success.
  • Amend and augment the flow as needed using Tcl or other programming skills.
  • Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States.

The annual salary range for California is $197,144 to $292,500. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
