Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with 7+ years of IT Project Management experience to lead medium to large-scale enterprise technology initiatives within a leading global life sciences organization.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing complex, cross-functional technology projects involving both business and IT stakeholders. Experience working in large, matrixed organizations and regulated life sciences environments is highly preferred.

Candidates with previous Abbott or AbbVie experience are strongly preferred. Candidates with experience at other major life sciences organizations such as Baxter, Medtronic, Takeda, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson are also encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in IT Project Management
  • Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale enterprise technology initiatives
  • Strong experience managing complex cross-functional projects
  • Experience partnering with business stakeholders, IT leadership, architects, developers, analysts, and vendors
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk and issue management skills
  • Experience managing project dependencies, resources, timelines, and deliverables
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Experience working within large, matrixed organizations
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, PMO standards, project governance, and delivery methodologies
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or similar platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Abbott or AbbVie experience
  • Experience within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare industry
  • Experience with regulated enterprise environments
  • Experience managing Data, Analytics, Reporting, Integration, or Digital Transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing vendors and third-party delivery partners
  • Experience supporting portfolio planning, prioritization, and resource forecasting

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to large-scale IT initiatives from project initiation through implementation and operational handoff
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and resource allocations
  • Coordinate multiple technical and functional workstreams
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define objectives, scope, timelines, and deliverables
  • Facilitate project governance meetings, status reporting, executive updates, and stakeholder communications
  • Identify and proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and roadblocks
  • Drive accountability across project teams and ensure timely delivery
  • Ensure projects follow established PMO, SDLC, and governance standards
  • Manage relationships with vendors and third-party delivery partners
  • Support portfolio planning, prioritization, and resource forecasting
  • Build strong relationships with business partners while managing competing priorities and changing requirements
