Summary



Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. (CPS) is an Information Technology consulting and staffing company offering a broad range of services aimed at helping our clients deliver high-quality, cost-effective systems.



The company anticipates hiring 3 Full-Time contract personnel for the following services: Application Design and Programming.



Work is expected to last for 3 Months.



Systems Architects will play a crucial role in migrating legacy on-premises workloads to Azure-based solutions, leveraging Azure Blob Storage, Azure AI Search, Azure Document Intelligence, and event-driven pipelines, while ensuring data integrity and continuity of service.



The ideal candidates should be proficient in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines to streamline software releases across environments. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, infrastructure as code (Bicep/Terraform), and working directly with end users in a forward-deployed capacity is essential



The advanced-level Systems Architects who will work as forward-deployed engineers embedded with teams, primarily focused on designing, building, and delivering new, modern solutions on Microsoft Azure that update and replace legacy LADBS applications.



Contractors shall meet the following key high-level work products and outcomes.

(Note: This list is not exhaustive.)

1. Design, build, test, and maintain modern Azure architectures (capture, storage, AI enrichment, search, portals) that update legacy applications and align with business requirements and goals.

2. Implement CI/CD frameworks in Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, delivering repeatable and reliable deployment pipelines with automated testing.

3. Work with the cloud solutions architect to align new solutions with platform architecture, networking, identity, and security infrastructure.

4. Collaborate with development and operations teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.

5. Ensure new architectures support records retention, legal hold, public records access, and large-scale growth over the system lifetime.

6. Document processes and perform periodic system reviews to ensure adherence to established standards and processes.

7. Evaluate and advise on technical aspects of the modernization product backlog with the project lead.

8. Define Azure infrastructure Reference Architectures for common solution archetypes.

9. Other related tasks.



Status Updates and Reporting Contractor shall provide weekly and monthly status reports in electronic format.

These reports should accurately depict the progress of projects, outstanding support issues, and inform management of any upcoming risk.

Contractor shall schedule and facilitate status meetings which will include a review of the status of all identified work products from previous Section, as well as any risks to maintaining the committed project schedule and any delivery concerns.



Required Experience

Qualified candidates must possess the following skills and experience:

? A bachelor?s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.

? Proven experience as a Systems Architect or forward-deployed engineer, with a track record of delivering and operating robust, scalable systems directly alongside business users.

? Demonstrated technical proficiency with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, AKS/Container Apps, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, AI Search), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.

? Proficient in .NET Core, Python, C#, and Git.

? Experience with Agile methodologies and software development.

? Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

? Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work in a dynamic, team-oriented setting and adapt quickly to change in a fast paced work environment.

? Certifications in a related field would be an added advantage (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).

? Experience in Azure cloud technologies and AI services.

? 3+ years of project management and leadership.
