Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Maintenance Technical Support for an Onsite position with a Major Utility Company located in Wheatfield, IN. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This role focuses on maintenance technical support, planning, and procedure development within a power plant environment. The selected candidate will work with the Maintenance Supervisor to develop processes, plan work, and provide technical guidance to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Responsibilities: - Maintain a safe work environment by inspecting job sites and reviewing maintenance procedures for hazards
- Conduct pre-job safety briefs and consistently enforce safety rules and regulations
- Place high priority on environmental equipment and systems maintenance to assure compliance
- Coordinate with the Operations Superintendent, Engineering, and Plant Manager to develop effective repair strategies and maintenance schedules
- Develop budget requests for plant equipment and systems maintenance and capital improvements
- Control and track department expenses to operate within budget
- Respond to emergency calls outside of normal work schedule
- Train and evaluate employees in the proper use of tools, machinery, maintenance procedures, and safe work practices
- Assist operating departments in monitoring equipment and troubleshooting abnormal operating conditions
Requirements: - 4+ years of experience in Maintenance or other related Engineering discipline obtained in a Power Plant, similar industrial process, or military service
- Strong technical background and understanding of Power Plant equipment, systems, and operations with an instrument and control background
- Ability to utilize predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasound, and tribology
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation maintenance procedures and work practices
- Able to effectively manage several projects at one time
- Understanding of the elements of the maintenance management process
- Able to effectively communicate through a variety of media with supervisors, peers, and subordinates
- Familiar with other maintenance disciplines and understands the relationship between equipment mechanical, electrical and controls
Desired skills: - Experience or formal training in Power Plant operating departments, project management, and maintenance management practices
Pay range: up to $50.00 per hour
