job summary:

We are seeking an experienced Storage Engineer to join our Digital Modernization team supporting critical infrastructure in Washington, DC. In this role, you will lead the administration, maintenance, and performance optimization of enterprise SAN and NAS environments while ensuring system alignment with modern IPv6 network standards. This is a 100% on-site role delivering essential operational reliability and data availability for high-priority systems.

responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provision, manage, and optimize enterprise storage systems including SAN, NAS, and Direct Attached Storage (DAS).
• Configure and maintain storage systems to operate seamlessly over IPv6 networks in addition to standard IPv4 environments.
• Oversee regular data backup routines, perform health checks, and manage disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor storage performance metrics and capacity to proactively identify and eliminate bottlenecks.

qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of dedicated storage engineering and administration experience (SAN/NAS).

Direct operational experience configuring storage systems within an IPv6 networking environment.

Proven track record in data backup, disaster recovery management, and performance monitoring.

U.S. Citizenship or status with at least 3 years of continuous U.S. residency.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to start.

Ability to work 100% on-site in Washington, DC.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong understanding of IPv6 network architecture, subnetting, routing, and troubleshooting.

Experience supporting IT operations within federal or government site environments.
