Administer, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems in production and non production environments.
Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of RHEL servers. Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve Linux OS level issues related to CPU, memory, disk, network, and services.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring system issues and implement permanent fixes.
Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and access controls.
Configure and maintain system security, including firewalls, SELinux, and patch management.
Apply OS patches and updates using YUM/DNF and Red Hat Satellite.
Manage disk partitions, LVM, file systems, and storage mounts. Configure and troubleshoot network services such as SSH, NTP, DNS, FTP, and HTTP.
Write and maintain shell scripts (Bash) and ansible playbooks for automation and routine administration tasks.
Monitor system logs and alerts using standard Linux tools.
Perform system backups, restores, and disaster recovery activities.
Support virtualization and cloud environments where Linux is deployed (VMware/AWS/Azure).
Work closely with application teams to support deployments and resolve OS related issues.
Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Participate in on call support and handle critical production incidents.
Ensure compliance with company security policies and industry best practices.
Datacenter operations/coordination with vendor for rack & stack, maintenance & new service builds
Required Skills:
Strong hands on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8/9/10).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Strong understanding of Linux internals and system administration concepts.
Experience with shell scripting (Bash). Knowledge of networking fundamentals and Linux networking commands.
Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning. Preferred Qualifications: Red Hat certification (RHCSA / RHCE).
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible.
Experience in enterprise production environments.
