Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer (End‑to‑End Ownership)

Tech Stack: Golang, React
Our client is a fast‑growing, deeply technical startup building the next-generation Ground Traffic Control platform for airports. They are looking for a Senior Full‑Stack Software Engineer who thrives in an ownership-driven environment and wants to build mission‑critical, data‑intensive systems from the ground up.
This role is true end-to-end product engineering: you’ll work directly with airport ground crews, understand operational pain points, design and build distributed systems, and ship high-performance software used in real‑world aviation operations.
What You’ll Do
- Own features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, and maintain.
- Work across the entire stack—from backend services to internal tools to customer-facing UI.
- Build and improve distributed systems that operate under real-time, high-load, high-accuracy conditions.
- Collaborate directly with users (airport operations teams) to understand workflows and edge cases.
- Design reliable APIs, internal tools, and scalable backend services.
- Improve system observability, data quality, test coverage, and performance.
- Contribute to frontend architecture, backend infrastructure, and CI/CD best practices.
- Ensure system-level scalability, security, resilience, and data integrity.
What Makes This Role Unique
- No product managers — engineers own the problem, talk to users, define requirements, and ship solutions.
- High autonomy in a lean team where every engineer has massive product influence.
- Immediate growth trajectory: the company plans to double engineering headcount, creating emerging tech lead & management opportunities.
- Strong seed funding ($10M) with Series‑A‑level traction, giving substantial upside on equity.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 7 years as a full‑stack engineer at a mix of reputable tech companies and startups.
- Demonstrated project ownership—ideally having shipped customer-facing features in data‑centric environments such as aviation, mobility, IoT, sensor data, fleet telemetry, logistics, or real-time streaming systems.
- Comfortable working across the stack in a ~50/50 frontend–backend capacity.
- Exposure to distributed systems, async event queues, and high‑volume data streams.
Traits
- Strong product intuition; thrives without rigid structure or PMs.
- Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable making decisions.
- Excellent communicator who can work directly with frontline users.
- Excited by hands-on collaboration and being onsite in Los Angeles.
Nice-to-Have
- Golang or React experience (not required).
- Passion for aviation or time-critical operational systems.
Red Flags
- Frequent job changes (every 6–12 months).
- Recent or primarily contract-only experience without ownership.
Compensation & Logistics
- $180K–$200K base salary
- Significant equity opportunity due to early-stage growth
- Onsite in Los Angeles (no remote/visa sponsorship at this time)
