Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager / IT Consultant to support technology initiatives for a large county government environment. The consultant will work closely with the County’s Information Technology Department and various stakeholders to manage and coordinate complex IT modernization projects.

This role focuses on project leadership, vendor coordination, and program management for enterprise technology systems used across public safety, judicial, and administrative departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage enterprise IT projects from initiation through completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risk logs, and status reports.
• Coordinate with County IT staff, external vendors, and department stakeholders.
• Provide project governance and oversight to ensure timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
• Manage modernization and enhancement initiatives for existing enterprise systems.
• Facilitate project meetings, stakeholder workshops, and executive status briefings.
• Support procurement processes including development of RFPs, vendor evaluation, and contract coordination.
• Assist in planning and prioritization of technology initiatives across multiple departments.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements, modernization strategies, and technology governance.

Technology Environment (Oversight Level)

• The consultant will support projects involving enterprise government systems including:
• Tyler Technologies platforms (Odyssey, New World ERP, AEGIS)
• Public safety systems (911 dispatch, radio systems, law enforcement systems)
• Enterprise network infrastructure (Cisco, Juniper, Mist, Fortinet)
• Hybrid infrastructure environments including on-premise systems and potential cloud initiatives
• This role requires project management oversight rather than hands-on engineering work.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT project management or IT consulting
• Experience managing large-scale enterprise IT projects
• Strong experience working with government, public sector, and large enterprise environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• Experience coordinating with technology vendors and system integrators
• Strong documentation, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
• Experience with public safety systems or court/judicial systems
• Experience supporting ERP or enterprise government platforms
• Familiarity with Tyler Technologies systems
• Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments (network modernization, data center upgrades)
