Construction Supervisor in Morristown, TN
  • Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • Direct Hire / Full-Time
  • On-Site

We're seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to lead the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of industrial ceramic kilns and related thermal processing systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on construction professional with experience in industrial manufacturing environments who enjoys leading field teams and driving projects from planning through startup.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily construction activities for kiln installations, rebuilds, maintenance projects, and shutdowns
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and production teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and construction specifications
  • Oversee installation of refractory brick and insulation systems, steel structures, combustion systems, burners, mechanical equipment, electrical components, ductwork, piping, and ventilation systems
  • Monitor subcontractors and field crews to ensure productivity, workmanship quality, and compliance with safety standards
  • Conduct field inspections and quality audits to verify compliance with project specifications and company standards
  • Schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor resources to support project execution
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and maintain a strong safety culture across all job sites
  • Participate in project planning meetings, progress reporting, and jobsite coordination activities
  • Troubleshoot construction and installation challenges in partnership with engineering teams
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, project documentation, and job logs
  • Assist with commissioning, startup activities, and ongoing maintenance support for kiln systems

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or technical certification in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial construction supervision experience
  • Experience with ceramic manufacturing, refractory construction, furnace or kiln systems, or thermal processing equipment strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction practices, mechanical systems, and field operations
  • Ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
