job summary:
PURPOSE
A junior-level network engineer to support the store network lifecycle by working directly with field operations, vendors, and store locations to ensure timely resolution of network issues and successful device transitions. This role requires strong familiarity with the Meraki Dashboard, including unbinding and un-claiming legacy hardware, cleaning up device records, and maintaining accurate licensing and inventory across a 17,000-store footprint. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to coordinate effectively with deployment partners such as Comcast, and capable of providing strong customer support to non-technical store managers while ensuring the overall health and accuracy of all store network environments.

responsibilities:
Perform configuration reviews for new and existing devices; validate template assignments and update configurations as needed.
Monitor and triage network alerts, issues; resolve intermediate-level incidents related to Meraki MX/MS/MR hardware.
Assist with store lifecycle activities including device replacements, dashboard cleanup, and verification of network topology changes.
Maintain and update documentation for network diagrams, configuration standards, and troubleshooting procedures.
Verify configuration of new devices
Ensure life-cycled devices are removed from the Meraki dashboard
Provide Detailed Progress Reports on life-cycle status
Provide direct support to store managers and field teams during network incidents, communicating technical issues in clear, business-friendly language and driving timely resolution.
qualifications:
Education and experience:
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
-2-3 years of hands-on networking experience, preferably with Cisco/Meraki environments.
-Experience with retail networking, structured troubleshooting, and cloud-managed solutions preferred.
-Strong communication skills
-Experience using LLM or AI-assisted tools for troubleshooting, documentation, or workflow efficiency is preferred.
-Exceptional Customer Service Skills to aid in contact directly with the stores.
Must have skills:
-Awareness of Cisco Meraki Appliance, Switch and Wireless hardware (MX, MS, MR)
-Understanding of cloud-managed networking concepts
-Understanding of Meraki Profiles and Templates
-Familiarity with Meraki Dashboard terminology and structure
-Awareness of network lifecycle concepts
-Ability to communicate clearly with peers, senior engineers, and non-technical stakeholders
-Strong customer service skills with the ability to support non-technical store managers professionally, patiently, and effectively during operational issues.
-An understanding of project management concepts
-Basic knowledge of POS, back-office, and store connectivity dependencies
