Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Python Backend Heavy)

Position Overview:
Client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale a brand-new, focused vulnerability management platform (plus, not required). This initiative involves transforming a complex, open-source framework into a streamlined, high-impact tool tailored to specific internal use cases. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of driving medium-to-large-scale projects independently with minimal oversight, handling active feature development, bug fixes, and operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feature Development & Architecture: Design, build, and enhance backend components, APIs, and user interfaces for the new vulnerability management platform.
- Project Ownership: Take ownership of medium-to-large projects from inception to completion with limited guidance.
- Operational Excellence: Manage bug fixes, system enhancements, and operational requests to ensure high reliability and performance.
- Lifecycle & Data Management: Build and maintain systems that manage the ticketing lifecycle of vulnerabilities and power the underlying database architecture.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack:
- Backend Development: Strong backend engineering experience, with expert-level proficiency in designing and consuming APIs (OpenAPI), Python - (Must Have).
- Client Note on Python: The candidates should have a very strong background in python. While we're usually pretty language agnostic, this contract timeline doesn't have room for people to get comfortable with the intricacies of the language. This goes well beyond people who have just used it for scripting (they should be very familiar with python class design, decorators, generators, what qualifies as "pythonic" and what does not, etc).
- Frontend Development: Working knowledge of React (Note: the frontend is lightweight and primarily centered around heavy API interaction).
- Database & Data Management: Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL.
- Project Execution: Proven track record of independently managing and delivering complex software engineering initiatives.
