Job Description
We are seeking a senior Infrastructure Engineer to join our Avanade client engagement. The candidate will design, implement, and support Azure-centric hybrid cloud solutions with a focus on automation, security, and reliability. The candidate will leverage Terraform, GitHub, and CI/CD practices to deliver scalable infrastructure and will collaborate across cloud engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and engineer Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructures, including Azure Stack HCI and on-prem integrations.
- Develop and maintain Terraform Infrastructure as Code with version control and workflows in GitHub.
- Implement secure Azure networking, identity, and security architectures.
- Build CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments.
- Administer and optimize Windows Server and Linux environments in enterprise settings.
- Operate Tanium modules (Patch, Enforce, Comply) for endpoint management and compliance.
- Manage SQL Server administration tasks and support database operations.
- Deploy and manage Azure Virtual Machines and Azure Storage services with cost and performance considerations.
- Troubleshoot compute, network, and cloud platform issues and drive root cause analysis.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps roles.
- Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including hybrid cloud deployments.
- Experience with Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) or similar hybrid infrastructure platforms.
- Expertise in Terraform IaC and GitHub-based version control and workflows.
- Azure networking and security architecture design and implementation experience.
- CI/CD automation and deployment pipeline proficiency.
- Enterprise Windows Server and Linux administration background.
- Tanium experience with Patch, Enforce, and Comply modules.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server administration and database management.
- Experience deploying and managing Azure VMs and Azure Storage.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across compute, networking, and cloud platforms.
Preferred Skills:
- Enterprise hybrid cloud architectures and migration strategies experience.
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Administrator or Solutions Architect.
- Support experience in large-scale enterprise environments with automation-first practices.
