Job Summary
The IT Asset Management (ITAM) Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of end-user computing (EUC) hardware assets. This role serves as a subject matter expert for hardware asset governance, ensuring inventory accuracy, cost optimization, compliance, and alignment with financial planning and budgeting processes.
The position collaborates closely with IT Operations, Procurement, Finance, and Security teams to maintain data accuracy, forecast hardware spend, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
IT Asset Lifecycle Management

Manage the full lifecycle of end-user hardware assets: request, procurement, deployment, refresh, redeployment, and retirement

Establish and maintain ITAM policies, procedures, and controls for EUC hardware

Maintain a single source of truth for hardware inventory across asset management and financial systems

Define and enforce hardware standards, refresh cycles, and disposition policies

Ensure accurate asset tracking and reconciliation with physical inventory

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards

Review end-user experience metrics and adjust refresh schedules accordingly
Vendor Management

Build and maintain relationships with hardware vendors

Evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, and reliability

Support contract negotiations, including pricing and SLAs
-
Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with agreements

Manage hardware inventory forecasting and align with consumption trends and budget
Solution Identification & Implementation

Assess hardware needs and identify improvement opportunities in lifecycle processes

Implement automation to streamline workflows

Research and evaluate emerging hardware technologies

Develop and execute hardware deployment and lifecycle strategies

Oversee deployments to ensure timely and quality delivery

Gather feedback from stakeholders to improve solutions
Project Management

Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies

Coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth execution

Monitor progress and communicate updates to stakeholders

Identify and resolve issues with minimal disruption to business operations
Financial & Budget Management

Manage hardware budgets, forecasts, and multi-year refresh plans

Partner with Finance for budget tracking, accruals, and variance analysis

Provide insights for lease vs purchase decisions and vendor strategies

Identify cost optimization opportunities and process improvements
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain documentation for lifecycle processes, vendor contracts, and project plans

Generate reports on asset inventory, lifecycle status, vendor performance, and spend

Provide insights and recommendations to leadership
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

7+ years of experience in IT hardware asset management or related roles

Strong understanding of hardware lifecycle management and inventory controls

Experience managing hardware deployment projects

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills

Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, SCCM, Intune, JAMF

Experience in vendor management and contract handling

Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking

Certifications such as ITIL or PMP are a plus
