Role Overview
An experienced interim Ambulatory Manager is sought to support an Ambulatory Clinical Applications team for a contract of approximately six months. This role will focus on leading a team that primarily manages non-Epic applications. The position requires a leader with experience in bridging non-Epic systems with Epic while providing operational and vendor oversight. The manager will be responsible for a team of analysts and a lead, overseeing application upgrades, handling new application requests, and managing relationships with business stakeholders and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and support the day-to-day operational needs of the Ambulatory Clinical Applications team.
- Manage the lifecycle of non-Epic applications, including enhancements, maintenance, and new requests.
- Oversee vendor relationships, including negotiations, contract management, and communication.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and define application needs.
- Ensure effective integration of non-Epic applications with Epic through interfaces, workflows, and data exchange.
- Lead a team of analysts, providing guidance and managing performance.
- Maintain business relationships and act as a liaison between technical teams, vendors, and business units.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience managing Ambulatory Clinical Applications teams, particularly with non-Epic systems in an ambulatory or inpatient provider setting. A strong background in vendor management, including working with multiple third-party application providers is necessary.
Technical Skills: A solid understanding of integrating non-Epic applications into an Epic environment is required. This includes knowledge of interfaces, workflows, and data exchange. Expertise in contracting, SaaS agreements, and vendor negotiations is also essential.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position requiring work to be performed during Pacific Standard Time (PST) hours. Occasional onsite presence will be necessary for team meetings. The role involves a balance of managing business relationships (50%) and handling operational and technical responsibilities (50%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with Epic is preferred, but not mandatory for a candidate with otherwise strong qualifications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
