Seeking a Senior Java Developer to support and enhance a mission-critical enterprise application in a regulated environment. The role focuses on maintaining and improving a Java 8 / legacy J2EE codebase, delivering new features, and resolving production issues while ensuring stability, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java SE 8 / legacy J2EE applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root-cause analysis
- Implement new functionality while maintaining system stability
- Support integrations, batch processing, and downstream dependencies
- Participate in code reviews and follow development standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams
- Contribute to documentation and operational readiness
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Java development experience (Java SE 8 required)
- Strong experience with legacy or monolithic Java/J2EE applications
- Experience with Spring, JDBC, Hibernate, or similar frameworks
- Proven production support experience in enterprise environments
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working within regulated or controlled environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and enterprise platforms
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle)
- Experience with newer Java versions (11 or 17)
