Hadoop / HPE MapR Engineer to design, build, operate, and optimize large-scale distributed data platforms. In this role, you will support and enhance enterprise-grade HPE MapR-based Hadoop ecosystems, ensuring high availability, strong performance, and reliable data processing across mission-critical workloads.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with MapR services, distributed systems, Linux, and big-data processing frameworks, and thrives in complex, production-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale Hadoop/HPE MapR clusters.
- Optimize distributed data platforms for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cluster health, resource utilization, and system stability.
- Support MapR ecosystem services, including storage, compute, and data-processing components.
- Collaborate with data engineering and platform teams to ensure seamless integration with enterprise workloads.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks, failures, and distributed-system issues.
- Implement best practices for security, governance, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications- Strong hands-on experience with Hadoop distributions, specifically HPE MapR.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, data storage architectures, and cluster-computing concepts.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration.
- Experience with at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Java, Scala, or Bash.
- Working knowledge of Apache Spark and batch/stream processing frameworks.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot performance, stability, and scaling issues in large-scale environments.
