Role Overview
Our organization is seeking a Microsoft 365 Architect for SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business to join our team. The candidate will be a self-motivated individual with experience in architecture design, engineering, and security/compliance best practices for Microsoft 365. This role will guide design discussions based on business and technology requirements, provide engineering analysis, and propose technical solutions to implement and maintain long-term compliance with standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design M365 service integration architectures with a focus on SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
- Provide architectural support for initiatives ranging from Proof of Concepts to complex multi-year implementations.
- Leverage a strategic understanding of Microsoft 365 concepts to develop and integrate M365 services, including Power Platform and Teams.
- Provide technical guidance to leadership and development teams to implement best practices.
- Create and execute architecture design and process flows in support of Microsoft 365 delivery and user migrations.
- Focus on process improvements to increase operational excellence and enhance the user experience.
- Facilitate the resolution of problems throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Create design concepts for distribution lists, security groups, and M365 Groups.
- Generate and maintain architectural design artifacts in support of governance standards and operational excellence.
- Perform analysis to identify gaps or improvements and develop solutions based on business needs.
- Provide oversight on daily architectural activities and function as a mentor.
Required Qualifications
Education: A college degree or equivalent hands-on experience is required.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience with architecture and engineering for Microsoft 365, SharePoint, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and/or Power Platforms is required.
Technical Skills:- Expert-level knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Conditional Access, Identity & Access Management, Purview, Data Loss Prevention, and Microsoft Information Protection.
- Expert-level knowledge of relevant collaboration services, both cloud and on-premise.
- High-level knowledge of foundational components such as Active Directory, network infrastructure, and PowerShell scripting.
- Expert knowledge of overall Microsoft 365 design, deployment, configuration, and administration.
- Experience with Copilot integration and tools including SharePoint Admin Agent and SharePoint Advanced Management.
- Experience architecting and building applications for deployment within SharePoint Online and Microsoft Power Platforms.
- Experience with ITIL foundational and Agile process methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise security, including TLS, certificates, and HSM.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating system environments.
- Knowledge of authentication mechanisms including domain authentication, OAuth/Modern Authentication, and Kerberos.
- Experience with network security components including load balancers and firewalls.
- Understanding of Financial Regulatory, Legal, and Compliance requirements.
- MCP or higher certification.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay rate for this position is between $80.00 and $89.74 per hour. This information is a good faith estimate for this position and is subject to change based on the final candidate's qualifications and experience.
