Location Remote (USA) Some onsite travel may required for client meetings – 25-30 hours per week
Position Summary
The Workday Testing Practice Lead / Testing Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide Workday testing initiatives across HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Financials, Student, and Phase X implementations. This role partners with customers, project leadership, functional consultants, and internal stakeholders to develop scalable testing strategies, standardized methodologies, and quality assurance processes that ensure successful Workday deployments and post-production support.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Leadership & Strategy
- Lead end-to-end testing activities for Workday implementations, upgrades, and support projects
- Develop comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and execution frameworks
- Establish and scale enterprise testing practices, methodologies, and reusable collateral
- Drive baseline testing standards across all implementation engagements
- Conduct testing risk assessments and manage issue escalation processes
- Lead testing kickoff meetings, status reviews, defect triage sessions, and stakeholder communications
Workday Functional Testing
- Support testing across:
- Workday HCM
- Payroll
- Benefits
- Absence Management
- Financials
- Student
- Coordinate development of custom test scenarios aligned with customer business requirements
- Guide customers through SIT, UAT, Parallel Testing, Regression Testing, and Go-Live readiness activities
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Partner with customers, engagement managers, project managers, and functional consultants
- Provide executive-level updates on testing initiatives and project health
- Deliver customer training and knowledge transfer sessions
Process Improvement & Governance
- Standardize testing templates, tools, and governance models
- Ensure compliance with Workday implementation methodologies and QA best practices
- Continuously improve testing efficiency, scalability, and delivery quality
- Drive process optimization initiatives across implementation and support teams
Team Leadership
- Mentor and train junior testing consultants and QA analysts
- Lead distributed remote teams across multiple projects and customer environments
- Coordinate resource planning and workload management
