Role: Network Administrator

W2 Contract: 6 Months

Location: Hybrid in Owings Mills, MD

Overview

A Network Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's computer networks. They ensure that networks are operating efficiently, securely, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.

The contractor is required to perform shift work in a 24x7 NOC environment. Required to monitor, triage, and resolve/escalate issues with enterprise Cisco networks, proprietary Utility networks, coordinate telecom issues with vendors and support staff, and perform Major Incident escalations.

Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, and maintaining network hardware and software.

Monitoring network performance and troubleshooting issues.

Configuring and managing network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Implementing and managing network policies and procedures.

Collaborating with other IT staff to ensure network connectivity and availability.

Conducting regular network assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions.

Providing technical support to end-users and other IT staff.

Keeping abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in networking.

Managing network documentation and inventory.

Participating in projects to upgrade or expand network infrastructure.

Required Skills & Experience

A minimum of 4 5+ years of professional experience working in high-demand networking environments.

At least 4 5 years of dedicated experience within the telecommunications sector.

Prior experience in a Network Operations environment is highly preferred.

A strong foundation in Cisco networking technologies is essential (4 5 years minimum).

Must hold a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification or an equivalent entry-level networking certification as a baseline requirement.

Hands-on experience with Cisco-specific hardware and software configurations is a significant advantage.

4+ years in Telecom/Networking.

Active CCNA (or higher).

Demonstrated stability in professional network environments.

Cisco Network experience
