Summary

Windchill CAD Support Analyst

Position Summary:
Our partner is a global medical device manufacturer focused on designing and delivering advanced orthopedic solutions used by surgeons worldwide. They are seeking a Windchill CAD Support Analyst to help keep CAD data, part records, and downstream integrations reliable within a mature PLM environment. As an Analyst, you will support engineers and internal users by troubleshooting association issues, publishing failures, and data quality problems between Windchill and CAD systems. The environment is already live, with a focus on stabilization and accuracy rather than new implementation. The work is hands-on and investigative, involving clarifying vague requests, tracing broken relationships between parts and CAD, correcting metadata and associations safely, and ensuring published outputs are complete and usable.

Experience and Education:

Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on PLM experience
Experience supporting PTC Windchill in a production engineering environment
Background working with CAD data inside a PLM system
Hands-on experience working directly with WTPart objects and EPM Documents, including diagnosing and repairing association and link integrity issues.
Experience working in ticket-driven or internal support-focused technical roles
Past experience in regulated manufacturing environments such as medical device, aerospace, or industrial manufacturing (a plus)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot Windchill tickets related to missing or incorrect CAD data
Diagnose WTPart to EPMDocument association issues
Repair ownership, calculated, and related associations without changing engineering content
Investigate lifecycle state and visibility issues impacting downstream systems
Resolve CAD Worker publishing failures involving PDFs and DXFs
Identify and correct missing external references in CAD publishing outputs
Work directly with engineers to clarify vague or incomplete requests
Communicate fixes and next steps clearly to internal users
Coordinate with Windchill admins when Production state objects require controlled access
Perform proactive cleanup of common associations and data quality patterns
Normalize link types based on the defined standard work
Identify repeat issues and flag trends for process improvement
Maintain data integrity while working within established governance boundaries
Operate independently across a steady ticket queue
Support overall PLM reliability without introducing redesign or customization
