Summary

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Data Governance Analyst for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD, Washington DC, or Tysons, VA.

The Senior Data Governance Analyst is an individual contributor role within the Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO), supporting the execution of the organization's data governance vision and operational excellence. This position offers an experienced professional the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to data stewardship and AI readiness across the organization.

Under the direction of senior OCDO leadership, this role will support the operationalization of enterprise-wide data governance frameworks that safeguard data quality, ensure regulatory compliance, enable AI adoption, and maximize data use across mission-critical operations. This role will focus on tactical execution and cross-functional collaboration that directly supports the firm's mandate to protect investors and maintain market integrity.

Responsibilities :
  • Governance Framework Support & Implementation
    • Assist in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and operating procedures aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
    • Support OCDO leadership in aligning data governance initiatives with enterprise goals and industry best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Committee Support
    • Prepare materials, documentation, and follow-up to track actionable outcomes on governance priorities.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support execution of governance frameworks addressing regulatory and risk requirements.
    • Work with Technology teams to support data architecture governance and assist in technical implementation of governance standards.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Performance Management
    • Prepare reports and presentations on data governance program status and performance for management review.
    • Conduct analysis to support data governance initiatives and inform management decision-making.
    • Assist in developing and tracking metrics frameworks to measure governance program effectiveness.
  • Technical Governance & Data Management
    • Support data lineage and metadata management initiatives, ensuring transparency and traceability across the data ecosystem.
    • Support promotion and adoption of governance standards and best practices across data management disciplines.
    • Support the development of governance capabilities to meet emerging organizational needs
Required Skills :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Management, Data Management, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to enterprise data governance programs in complex environments.
  • Solid knowledge of data quality, metadata management, data architecture, and data lineage.
  • Proficient with data analysis and visualization tools for insights and communication.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to management and stakeholders.
  • Experience with stakeholder management including ability to build relationships and drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business language for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience participating in or supporting committees, working groups, and collaborative forums.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently while appropriately escalating issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative team player across organizational boundaries.
