Power BI Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards

• Build and manage semantic models optimized for performance and scalability

• Implement solutions using Microsoft Fabric, including:

  • OneLake

  • Lakehouse

  • Fabric Data Warehouse

  • Data Factory (Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2)

• Develop advanced DAX calculations and optimize query performance

• Perform data modeling (star schema, incremental refresh, aggregations)

• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and governance standards

• Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders

• Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh, performance, and capacity usage

• Support CI/CD pipelines and version control for BI assets

• Ensure data quality, reliability, and documentation

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with Power BI

• Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric workloads

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases

• Experience with Azure data platforms and cloud-based analytics

• Understanding of security, governance, and performance tuning

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Power BI / Fabric certification(s)

• Experience with Fabric migration from Power BI Premium or Synapse

• Familiarity with Spark, Python, or notebooks in Fabric

• Experience in Agile / DevOps environments
