Automation Developer with Python

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an Automation Developer with Python in Greenwood Village, CO.

Summary:
We are seeking an Automation QA Software Engineer to support automated testing for CPE and Wi-Fi product lines. This role is focused on scaling and maintaining a large automation suite used to validate firmware releases, Wi-Fi features, cloud integrations, and device stability across multiple OEM router platforms. The ideal candidate is strong in Python and Robot Framework, comfortable working in Linux and networking environments, and motivated to apply AI/ML to improve automation reliability and failure analysis.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain automated test cases using Python and Robot Framework to support CPE and Wi-Fi device validation
* Convert manual test cases into automation, contributing to the ongoing effort to scale from ~1,500 automated tests toward a total suite of ~5,000 test cases
* Execute automated test suites to validate new firmware drops, including upgrade/downgrade, reboot cycles, and regression scenarios
* Support DevOps and release teams by running automation against new vendor releases and identifying defects early in the delivery cycle
* Work closely with internal engineering teams and external vendors to validate Wi-Fi functionality, cloud integrations, and device stability
* Automate and validate WAN/LAN connectivity, Wi-Fi performance, security features, and overall device behavior
* Analyze test results, triage failures, and distinguish between automation issues, environment issues, and true product defects
* Apply AI/ML tools to help identify patterns in automation failures and improve test efficiency and reliability
* Document automation designs, test coverage, execution results, and best practices
* Collaborate with a small, focused automation team to meet delivery milestones and quality targets

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong hands-on experience with Python and the Robot Framework (required)
* Solid understanding of Python fundamentals, including lists, dictionaries, imports, and string formatting (f-strings)
* Experience working in Linux environments, including command-line usage and basic system troubleshooting
* Working knowledge of WAN/LAN networking concepts and device connectivity
* Exposure to AI/ML concepts or tools, whether professional or self-driven, with interest in applying them to test automation
* Experience supporting automated testing in a CI/CD or DevOps-driven environment
* Ability to analyze logs, debug automation failures, and communicate findings clearly to engineering teams
* Strong collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Wi-Fi technologies and consumer networking devices
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation execution as part of release workflows
* Exposure to vendor-supplied CPE platforms or embedded systems
* Experience using AI/ML tools to enhance test analysis or failure detection

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
