The Opportunity
StaffRight Associates is seeking a forward-thinking Controls Engineer to spearhead the evolution of advanced manufacturing automation. In this role, you will act as the technical catalyst for designing and optimizing cutting-edge automated machinery, transforming manual operations into high-efficiency robotic and control systems.
This position offers a rare blend of autonomy and structured mentorship, making it an ideal launchpad for an ambitious engineer looking to master sophisticated automation architectures and leave a lasting footprint on complex production ecosystems.
What You’ll Do
Architect and deploy robust, PLC-based automation architectures using industry-standard Allen-Bradley platforms to power sophisticated machinery.
Champion rapid-response, hands-on diagnostics on the manufacturing floor to resolve intricate electrical and control system anomalies, providing critical intervention during urgent downtime events.
Drive continuous modernization by identifying labor-intensive operations and engineering automated interventions utilizing robotics, servo mechanisms, and advanced pneumatics.
Design detailed electrical control panel layouts, meticulously selecting industrial components and engineering optimal motion profiles (servo vs. pneumatic) to maximize precision.
Synthesize clean, highly functional PLC logic and intuitive HMI interfaces while enforcing rigorous version control and documentation standards.
Collaborize with cross-functional allies in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent engineering solutions.
Execute flawless equipment commissioning, operational turnarounds, and optimization initiatives across specialized technology suites, including lasers, forming presses, and robotic cells.
Deconstruct complex electrical schematics, wiring layouts, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to guarantee strict adherence to regulatory safety mandates and internal corporate protocols.
