Summary

Preface

Innovation in investment and technology research demands more than just data, it requires the seamless convergence of computational drug discovery and high-stakes execution. At the core of this firm, the challenge is not merely managing systems, but architecting the infrastructure that enables breakthroughs.

StaffRight Associates is sourcing for a world-class firm where computational excellence is the standard. We are seeking an elite professional to join the ML Data team. This is not a support role; it is a strategic position for a candidate who thrives in a research-intensive environment and understands that technical precision is the backbone of global-scale problem-solving.

Academic & Research Pedigree

Our client’s environment demands exceptional intellectual rigor. While academic achievements are highly valued, StaffRight Associates is specifically targeting elite candidates who possess advanced degrees (Master’s with deep expertise or Ph.D.) in quantitative or STEM-related disciplines. Additionally, a strong track record of published research, hands-on academic exploration, or innovative technical contributions in high-performance computing, quantitative finance, or advanced technology sectors is highly preferred.

The Mission

As a PhD Scientist, Drug Discovery Data for AI/ML, you will act as a force multiplier for the team. Your mission is to eliminate systemic friction, allowing leadership to maintain an absolute focus on accelerating data-driven drug discovery and development.

You will transform abstract organizational challenges into high-impact, actionable outcomes. Working at the intersection of proprietary architecture and sophisticated algorithms, you will ensure that the firm’s technical output consistently pushes the boundaries of computational biochemistry and machine learning.

Core Technical Objectives

  • Orchestrate Systemic Workflows: Own and execute complex, high-stakes protocols to ensure seamless operational velocity for the ML Data team.

  • Distill Complex Data: Spearhead technical research, translating multifaceted scientific datasets (primarily chemical and biological) into precise frameworks that drive machine learning models.

  • Optimize Frameworks: Validate, curate, and refine intricate biological and chemical technical requirements, ensuring systemic accuracy and operational resilience.

  • Engineer Multi-Project Solutions: Navigate concurrent drug discovery pipelines using a proactive "Goal-Execution-Mapping" (GEM) approach to preempt bottlenecks.

  • Facilitate Elite Communication: Serve as a key interface between the machine learning researchers and drug discovery teams, upholding the highest standards of professional discretion.

Candidate DNA

  • Architectural Mindset: You approach problems with a focus on efficiency and resilience, executing with autonomous precision under pressure.

  • Proactive Problem-Solving: You don''t just react to data quality issues; you anticipate pipeline bottlenecks and resolve them before they impact model training.

  • Communication Precision: You translate complex biological and chemical datasets into clear, articulate insights for elite computational and machine learning minds.

  • Cross-Functional Agility: You pivot effortlessly between rigorous wet-lab understanding and deep dry-lab computational inquiry, maintaining momentum in a high-performance ecosystem.

Key Qualifications & Technical Skills

To thrive in this role, you must possess a rigorous scientific foundation including:

  • Required Credentials: Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, biology, or related scientific fields.

  • Domain Expertise & Systems: hands-on experience in an industry laboratory setting, familiarity with assays and techniques relevant to drug discovery, experience with linux environments, python

About the Client & Compensation

Our client, based in New York City, develops and uses advanced computational technologies for a proprietary special-purpose supercomputer designed to vastly accelerate molecular dynamics simulations—to understand molecular behavior at an atomic level and design highly selective drugs.

  • Base Salary: $250,000–$400,000 (determined by experience and academic background).

  • Additional Compensation: Variable sign-on and year-end bonuses.

  • Benefits: Generous comprehensive package, including relocation and immigration assistance.

  • Work Schedule: Hybrid (in-office Tuesday through Thursday; optional remote work Monday and Friday).
