Summary

Title: Mainframe Operator/Analyst

Location: Pontiac, MI

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Mainframe Operator who will also function as a Level 1 Incident Manager, responsible for monitoring, triaging, and resolving critical IT incidents. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor mainframe control consoles and ensure optimal system performance
Act as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents and events
Create, escalate, triage, and track technology-related incidents
Collaborate with IT teams, customers, and vendors for issue resolution
Utilize monitoring tools to track infrastructure, connectivity, and service availability
Assist in review and validation of mainframe Job Control Language (JCL)
Perform assigned operational and delivery tasks
Work in rotational shifts, including holidays, weekends, and night shifts

Required Skills & Experience:

5+ years of experience in a similar role
Hands-on experience with IBM Mainframe systems
Strong experience with monitoring tools such as What’s Up Gold, Pingdom, PRTG
Proficiency in Microsoft Teams
Knowledge of incident management processes and tools
Basic understanding of JCL (Job Control Language)
Excellent communication and coordination skills
