Histology Associate for a
contract assignment with one of our premier
Pharmaceutical clients in
Tucson, AZ.
Responsibilities :
Supports the functions of RTD histology laboratories in the performance of routine histotechniques
- Histotechniques (Tissue Sectioning and Staining)
- Some experience with foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing and primary staining.
- Experience with operating laboratory or manufacturing equipment.
- Receives detailed directions on all work. Follows standard operating procedures.
- Monitors and prepares bulk reagents
- May assist in preparation work for moderately complex techniques under the direction of more senior histology technicians.
- Quality and Safety
- Maintain Right to Operate and ensure that all processes are performed in a safe and healthy manner; Address and escalate any potentially unsafe hazards; Timely reporting of safety hazards, incidents and near misses using safety reporting tools.
- Navigate and understand the quality system and escalate issues
- Accurately performs tasks in a regulated environment (OSHA, NMPA, FDA, etc.)
- Performs and documents all transactions and production instructions with accuracy related to the proper receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of materials as it relates to FDA, OSHA, QSR, ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices and other firm policies and procedures.
- Ability to recognize minor issues with raw materials, equipment and lab safety, escalates as needed

- Responsible for 6S activities, maintaining daily records, assists in the implementation of process improvements
- Participates and contributes in team/tier meetings.
- May participate in process improvement activities
- Teamwork and Collaboration
- Proactively collaborates with peers and with other functions to ensure targets are achieved
- May provide suggestions to improve work processes and laboratory equipment
- Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination
- Operate and maintain histology laboratory equipment
- Ensure quality control and compliance with laboratory standards
- Assist pathologists with specimen analysis
- Follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines

- Required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day.

- Required to have good near visual acuity to perform activities throughout the processes in the assigned area.
- This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals requiring attendance on weekends, holidays and during emergency or exceptional conditions
Required Skills:
- Required H.S. Diploma or GED + 1 year of directly related histology experience
- Ability to read, analyze and following Operating Procedures
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques
- Skilled use of word processing and email
- Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement
- Experience with SAP required
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Ability to be agile and accurate in a high-volume environment
- Strong organizational skills, planning skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent time management skills to manage multiple tasks and competing timelines
- Ability to use the technology associated with the industry.

- 0-5 years of experience
- Strong problem-solving skills

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDoc, etc), preferred
- Certification in histotechnology preferred
