Description:
Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Duration: 1+ Year

Hybrid Work Policy: 2 days in the office / 3 days at home
Location: Anywhere in the U.S. near a local Jacobs office
, (Also open to candidates in Portland, OR or Tempe, AZ)

Qualifications

Required (Must Haves)

Seven (7) or more years' experience in the design of HVAC systems
Experience in Data Center HVAC systems
Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to HVAC design
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines
Ability to lead a building mechanical team and collaborate remotely
Professional Engineer (PE) License

Preferred

Software experience in:

Revit
AutoCAD
Carrier HAP
Trane Trace 700
Trane Trace 3D

Experience in the design of plumbing/utility systems

Responsibilities

Layout and design of HVAC systems for various client types, including:

Electric vehicle facilities
Data centers
Heavy industrial facilities

Develop design criteria for HVAC systems, including:

Comfort heating and cooling
Precise temperature or humidity control
Pressurization requirements
Clean room cleanliness requirements

Develop conceptual and preliminary design documents, including:

System sizing and selection calculations
P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams)
General arrangement drawings

Layout ductwork systems based on P&IDs
Develop final design documents, including:

Specifications
Sequences of operation
Piping layouts
Final construction documents
Systems such as chilled water, cooling water, etc.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines
Apply strong organizational skills, curiosity, collaboration, and multitasking
Mentor less experienced staff
