Description: Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced
Structural Engineering Professional to join our multidisciplinary design team. In this role, you will independently perform advanced structural analysis and design while collaborating closely with structural leads, engineers, designers, and cross-functional disciplines. You will contribute to developing design concepts, producing calculations, and ensuring structural requirements are clearly communicated through design documents and models.
This position offers opportunities to act as a
Lead Structural Engineer on medium-sized projects or
Sub-Lead on larger projects, with significant ownership of scope, schedule, quality, and technical excellence.
Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Analysis & Design- Perform all conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design with minimal supervision
- Plan and conduct work requiring independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering methods and criteria
- Apply sound engineering judgment to solve complex design problems
- Develop and execute lateral load analysis and design (wind and seismic) in compliance with applicable building codes
- Design and analyze traditional steel and reinforced concrete structures
Codes, Standards & Quality- Apply U.S. building codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Perform self-checks and peer reviews of structural calculations and deliverables
- Provide calculation checking of work produced by other engineers
Project Ownership & Coordination- Take full ownership of assigned portions of the structural scope
- Manage workload to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements
- Define scope and forecast level of effort for assigned tasks
- Identify scope changes and communicate them to the Structural Lead or Project Manager
- Coordinate effectively with designers and other disciplines to integrate structural requirements into models and drawings
Leadership & Development- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Support the advancement of workflows, systems, and tools within the structural discipline
- Embrace emerging technologies and best practices to improve efficiency and quality
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering
- Active Professional Engineer (PE or PEng) license
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering
- Strong proficiency with U.S. building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
- Demonstrated experience designing steel and concrete structures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications- Master of Science in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis)
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- Experience with industrial or semiconductor facilities
- Experience leading or mentoring medium-sized engineering teams
