Role Overview As a
Senior Staff Electronics Systems Engineer / Responsible Systems Engineer, you will serve as the technical leader for the development, certification, and delivery of custom automated test equipment supporting re-entry vehicle assets critical to the nation's strategic deterrence. You will lead cross-functional engineering efforts, advocate for complex system designs, and ensure successful execution across the full product lifecycle.
What You'll Do - Lead a small, multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for designing, certifying, and delivering custom automated test equipment.
- Act as the technical authority and advocate for complex system architectures across program, functional, and customer organizations.
- Define and lead system design, analysis, integration, and test activities while meeting cost and schedule commitments.
- Collaborate across engineering, program management, and customer teams in a dynamic development environment.
Minimum Qualifications - Experience across the product lifecycle, including:
- Design, integration, and test of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Participation in key lifecycle milestones such as:
- System Requirements Review (SRR)
- Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
- Critical Design Review (CDR)
- Test Readiness Review (TRR)
- Qualification Readiness Review (QRR)
- One of the following combinations of education and experience in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution:
- Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience, or
- Master's degree with 6 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced, new-development environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, both in-person and remote.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and direct execution of individual and team deliverables.
- Experience with:
- Collaborating directly with military customers.
- Cost estimating, schedule development, and basis of estimates.
- Writing, deriving, validating, and verifying system requirements.
- Conducting or supporting technical trade studies.
- Defining system architectures from requirements.
- Environmental testing.
- Aligning team skill sets with program technical needs.
- Hardware integration (e.g., circuit boards, chassis, test racks).
- Software integration onto hardware platforms.
- Familiarity with:
- Missile or satellite hardware, or associated test hardware.
- Failure investigation and root cause analysis.
- Mechanical or electrical worst-case analysis.
