Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Wireless Engineer to join a large-scale infrastructure modernization program supporting enterprise network transformation initiatives across the United States. This role requires deep expertise in enterprise wireless networking, RF engineering, Aruba ClearPass, Wi-Fi design, and modern connectivity solutions including SD-WAN, 5G, and satellite technologies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise-grade wireless environments across office, industrial, and large-scale enterprise facilities. The role also involves conducting predictive and onsite wireless surveys using industry-standard tools such as Ekahau and Hamina.
This is a fully onsite position based in Downstate New York, with occasional travel required to client locations for Wi-Fi surveys, deployment validation, and troubleshooting activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions across corporate and industrial environments.
- Conduct predictive and onsite wireless surveys, RF analysis, heat mapping, and coverage optimization using tools such as Ekahau and Hamina.
- Troubleshoot complex wireless issues including authentication failures, RF interference, roaming issues, performance degradation, and connectivity problems.
- Develop and maintain detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for Wi-Fi, NAC, and associated network infrastructure services.
- Create accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) for new deployments, hardware refreshes, upgrades, and lifecycle initiatives.
- Support enterprise Wi-Fi lifecycle management including hardware replacement, firmware/software upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Deploy and support secure wireless authentication solutions utilizing Aruba ClearPass, 802.1X, RADIUS, profiling, and role-based access controls.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams, security teams, operations, and business stakeholders to define and deliver scalable wireless solutions.
- Support deployment of SD-WAN integrated internet connectivity solutions and alternative connectivity technologies such as 5G and satellite-based networking.
- Analyze wireless network performance metrics, incident trends, and operational analytics to improve service reliability and user experience.
- Contribute to enterprise wireless standards, architecture best practices, documentation, and technical knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Participate in onsite pre-deployment and post-deployment Wi-Fi validation surveys at client facilities.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise network and wireless engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise with enterprise WLAN technologies including:
- Aruba Wireless
- Cisco Wireless Solutions
- Mandatory experience with Aruba ClearPass including:
- 802.1X Authentication
- RADIUS
- Device Profiling
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Deep understanding of:
- RF fundamentals
- Channel planning
- Power optimization
- Interference mitigation
- 802.11 Wi-Fi standards (Wi-Fi 5/6/6E/7)
- WLAN authentication and security protocols
- Enterprise wireless controllers and cloud-managed Wi-Fi platforms
- Strong experience with wireless survey and design tools:
- Ekahau
- Hamina
- Similar RF planning tools
- Experience with Cradlepoint or other 5G-enabled networking platforms.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise wireless environments within complex organizations.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for wireless performance and network-related issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel onsite for wireless surveys and deployment activities.
