Location: Princeton, NJ – Onsite

Duration: 12+ Months

Rate: $50/HR on W2

 

Job Details:

Strong hands-on experience in  IBM webMethods Administration

Experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, JVM tuning

Database knowledge (Oracle / SQL Server/Postgres) and basic networking

 

Role Summary
The IBM webMethods Administrator  is responsible for end-to-end administration, stability, and optimization of the webMethods integration platform. The role owns production environments, leads incident management and upgrades, and works closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure high availability and performance of enterprise integrations.
 
Key Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership & Administration

  • Own installation, configuration, upgrade, and patching of IBM webMethods components including:
    • Integration Server
    • Universal Messaging and Broker
    • Command Central
    • My webMethods Server (MWS)
    • Optimize
  • Manage multiple environments (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) with environment consistency and governance.
  • Plan and execute version upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
  • Certificate installation of target partners as per their requirement.
  • Knowledge on webMethods designer and coding skills.

Production Support & Incident Management

  • Act as L3 escalation point for production issues.
  • Lead major incident calls, perform root cause analysis, and drive permanent fixes.
  • Analyze logs, heap dumps, and thread dumps to resolve complex JVM and runtime issues.
  • Coordinate with IBM/webMethods support for critical SRs.

Performance, Stability & Capacity

  • Proactively monitor system health, message backlogs, memory utilization, and thread usage.
  • Perform performance tuning, JVM optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Design and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.

Security & Compliance

  • Manage users, groups, roles, and ACLs within webMethods.
  • Integrate authentication with LDAP / enterprise identity systems.
  • Configure SSL, certificates, and secure communications.
  • Support audit, compliance, and security reviews.

Automation & Operational Excellence

  • Automate deployments, restarts, housekeeping, and health checks using Command Central and scripting.
  • Standardize operational runbooks and SOPs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in platform stability and operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

  • Work closely with developers to support deployments, package management, and environment readiness.
  • Provide technical guidance to L2 / junior admins.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions for new integrations and platforms.

Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience in IBM webMethods Administration
  • Deep understanding of:
    • Integration Server architecture
    • Messaging & API management concepts
    • ESB and enterprise integration patterns
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, JVM tuning
  • Database knowledge (Oracle / SQL Server/Postgres) and basic networking

Operational Expertise

  • Production support in 24×7 environments
  • DR, backup & recovery planning
  • Environment refresh and release support

Soft Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Clear documentation and communication

Ability to work under pressure during outages
 
Preferred / Value Add

  • Experience with cloud or hybrid integration platforms
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • webMethods / Integration platform certifications
