Resource 1 is in need of a Business/ Data Analyst with at least 5 years of experience for a long-term contract in Chicago, IL (hybrid – 2 days onsite per week). The initial contract is for 1 year, but extensions are expected through numerous phases of the project. This hands-on Analyst will prepare legacy data for migration into D365 by profiling, harmonizing, cleansing, and producing migration-ready files. The Analyst will act as a business ambassador, working closely with SMEs, Data Engineers, and the implementation partner to document source-to-target mappings, validate data, and translate business logic into technical requirements. The primary impact is to close the gap between data engineering and the business to enable smooth migration and go-live phases.
Responsibilities:
- · Perform detailed data profiling and discovery across master data domains.
- · Create, review, and refine source-to-target mapping documentation.
- · Execute data cleansing, harmonization, deduplication, and transformations to produce migration-ready files.
- · Validate data and coordinate data fixes with engineering and business teams.
- · Run SQL queries and extracts to analyze data and identify issues.
- · Facilitate workshops and meetings with business SMEs, data engineers, and implementation partner to gather business logic and requirements.
- · Translate business rules/workflows into technical requirements for data engineers.
- · Maintain documentation and support handoffs to implementers and internal owners.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Proven SQL skills and experience writing queries for profiling and validation.
· Experience with data profiling, cleansing, harmonization, and deduplication.
· Experience developing and validating source-to-target mappings.
· Read workflows and business processes and translate them into data requirements.
· Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with business SMEs.
· Proficiency with Excel and ability to produce analysis and pivot-based summaries.
Plusses:
· Experience with modern data governance/harmonization platforms.
· Experience with D365 F&O/CRM migration projects.
· Familiarity with CDC ETL tools.
· Prior experience in enterprise migration programs or phased go-live rollouts.
