Summary
This role supports the insurance funding and treasury function, with a focus on sourcing, structuring, and managing capital to meet insurance liability needs. The position partners closely with Treasury, Risk, Capital Markets, and Insurance stakeholders to execute funding strategies and support balance sheet stability.
This is an execution-oriented capital markets role focused on the liability and funding side of the business.
It is not an investing, portfolio management, asset allocation, or trading role.
The Program Associate will support the evaluation, execution, and day-to-day management of the firm's capital markets activities, with particular emphasis on insurance funding agreements, institutional funding, and related treasury initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Insurance Funding & Treasury Execution
Support insurance liability funding strategies, including liquidity management and balance sheet execution
Partner closely with Treasury, Risk, and Insurance teams on capital sourcing, funding mechanics, and liability considerations
Execute funding-related workstreams and support day-to-day insurance balance sheet operations
Analyze funding structures, tradeoffs, and implications for insurance liabilities and capital structure
Coordinate across internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution
Capital Markets & Transaction Execution
Support execution workstreams for the firm's institutional funding and capital markets activities, including transaction structuring, execution, and ongoing management
Build and maintain Excel-based analyses and prepare transaction materials for internal and external stakeholders
Monitor credit markets using Bloomberg and other market data tools to support funding strategy optimization across tenors, currencies, and structures
Assist with transaction processes, including diligence coordination, data room management, and tracking execution timelines
Support review and negotiation of transaction terms and documentation, escalating risks, open items, and next steps to senior stakeholders
Market Analysis & Strategic Support
Conduct industry and peer analysis related to insurance funding, debt capital markets, and treasury practices
Translate market conditions and funding considerations into clear, execution-focused insights for senior team members
Develop a working understanding of the firm's balance sheet, liability profile, and funding needs to support capital structure and liquidity decisions
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
Support external relationships with banks, advisors, legal counsel, auditors, and other capital markets counterparties
Build strong internal partnerships across Treasury, Capital Markets, Risk, Legal, Finance, Reinsurance, and related teams
Act as a reliable point of contact on assigned funding and transaction workstreams
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required; progress toward CFA is a plus
3-5 years of experience in Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking (DCM/FIG), Capital Markets, or related sales & trading roles
Experience supporting financing, funding, or capital markets transactions is required
FIG exposure is strongly preferred; insurance experience is helpful but not required
Corporate FP&A-only or accounting-only backgrounds are not a fit for this role
Solid understanding of fixed income, credit markets, and funding products
Hands-on experience with transaction execution, financial analysis, and diligence support
Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills with the ability to clearly communicate funding analyses
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfort interacting with senior stakeholders
Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, execution-driven environment
Team-oriented, proactive self-starter with a strong execution mindset
Comfortable using Bloomberg (or similar platforms) to analyze credit spreads, yield curves, and funding conditions
