We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst / Software Test Analyst to support Treasury systems within the State of Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management, and Budget. This role involves coordinating and executing testing activities, ensuring quality delivery of applications, and collaborating closely with business and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Business Analysts and development teams across requirements, development, and testing phases
Design and develop test scenarios aligned with business acceptance criteria
Perform system, functional, and integration testing
Ensure appropriate test coverage, including coordination with third-party vendors
Conduct QA checks to validate readiness of code before entering test environments
Participate in meetings/workshops for requirement validation and test planning
Develop, execute, and maintain structured test scripts and regression packs
Track defects, coordinate re-testing, and validate issue resolution
Prepare reports, dashboards, and documentation for test progress and outcomes
Act as liaison between business units and IT teams for all testing activities
Manage risks, issues, and quality assurance throughout the testing lifecycle
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in QA requirements analysis and test planning
5+ years of experience in test execution and defect tracking
5+ years of experience with QA tools (Rational, HP ALM, or similar)
5+ years of backend functional testing experience
Strong experience in reviewing and enhancing test plans for full coverage
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bachelor’s degree required
