Collection Specialist

We are seeking a Collection Specialist with strong banking collections and customer interaction experience to join a fast-paced financial services environment in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience handling inbound and outbound collection calls, resolving delinquent accounts, and negotiating payment arrangements while ensuring compliance with collections regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage 100+ daily phone-based interactions with members regarding delinquent accounts across multiple financial product lines.

• Perform inbound and outbound collection calls using automated and manual dialing systems.

• Analyze account delinquency situations, identify root causes, and develop effective repayment strategies.

• Educate members on payment options, financial assistance programs, and account resolution plans.

• Negotiate mutually agreeable payment arrangements while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal collections regulations.

• Maintain accurate records of member interactions, payment commitments, and collection activities in the system.

• Manage multiple priorities in a Windows-based environment while meeting established performance and compliance metrics.

• Complete account verification, documentation, and maintenance tasks with strong attention to detail.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in collections, banking collections, customer service, account management, sales, counseling, or similar customer-facing roles.

• Proven experience handling inbound/outbound collection calls and resolving delinquent accounts.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to analyze financial situations, identify risks, and develop solutions.

• Experience working in a Windows-based environment and ability to quickly learn new systems.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
