Sr Business Analyst

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst to work with an aviation client, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams. The role involves understanding aviation business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, supporting solution design, and ensuring successful delivery of IT applications and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with aviation business stakeholders, operations teams, product owners, and IT teams to understand business needs.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, requirement walkthroughs, and process-mapping sessions.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
• Analyze existing aviation processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, QA teams, and other technical teams throughout the SDLC.
• Support solution design by clarifying business requirements and validating proposed solutions.
• Create AS-IS and TO-BE process flows, use cases, data flows, and business process documentation.
• Work with QA teams to develop test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with business users during UAT and ensure requirements are properly validated before production deployment.
• Analyze production issues and help identify root causes and business impacts.
• Maintain requirements traceability and ensure delivered solutions meet approved business requirements.
• Prepare status reports, requirement documentation, meeting notes, and project updates for stakeholders.
• Support change management, release planning, and implementation activities.
• Ensure solutions comply with applicable aviation standards, security requirements, operational procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
• Work in Agile/Scrum or Waterfall environments as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Aviation, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or IT Business Analyst, preferably within aviation, airlines, airports, travel, or transportation.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Experience creating BRD, FRD, SRS, user stories, use cases, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Good understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data analysis is preferred.
• Experience with API/integration concepts and understanding of system interfaces is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
